This page provides you with instructions all GMs must follow if order to have their transaction completed successfully. This takes in the areas of Trades, Signings, and the Waiver Wire. These are easy to follow so it shouldn't be any difficulty to do it at all. David Springgay (Ottawa) is the man in charge of the Transactions Office. He is aided by Shawn MacDonald and Chris Gates. All links lead to them.
Trades
Once two GMs have made a trade suitable to them, it is their responsibility to notify the league offices so the personnel changes can be made ASAP. The proper format is as follows. In the subject line, type "GWHL Trade Team/Team" with your full team name listed first, for example: "GWHL: Trade-Steeltown Hammers/B.C. Huskies". In the body of your email, clearly state the players involved and their positions, follow the format below. At the bottom of the trade section are the addresses for trades to be sent.

considerations
All trades will be looked at and for the most part immediately put through once both teams confirm the deals. BOTH TEAMS MUST CONFIRM A TRADE WITHIN 24 HOURS of the trade taking place, do not complain to league offices if a GM does not confirm within 24 hours and you want it to go through anyways. If there is misconduct on the part of one GM for not following through on the trade, it will be taken care of, but do not whine, you are more likely to get better results if you simply state "I traded so and so to this team but they never confirmed the deal after they agreed to it". Backing out of a trade is not tolerated, and we expect GMs to send a carbon copy email of confirmation to the team with which they traded. The league has no Trade Review Board. We are all big boys here and we are all expected to be able to take care of ourselves.
Here are the addresses to mail all trades, and do not forget to CC the other GM you make the deal with. Make a trade
Waivers
The waiver format is fairly simple, just use your GM Editor to demote the player of your choice. If that player meets the requirements for being demoted (see rules) he will pass to the farm team without going on waivers. If he does not, he will have to pass through waivers before going to the farm club.
If you wish to claim a player on waivers, you must do it in the next 48 hours from when he has been waived, or he will proceed to the club's farm team from which he was released. Claiming a player means the salary they shall make will be equal to what they made before they were waived. Being the first team to claim a player on waivers in the 48 hour period does not mean you will get him, if you are ranked #20 in the priority list and #12 claims him too, #12 will get the player. It is YOUR responsibility to check the waivers to see if there are any players of interest to you there. The priority list is set by record; the worse the record, the higher on the prioity list that team stands.

Releasing Players
If you wish to release a player outright you must buy-out his contract (as per the rules) and inform the Transactions Committee by using the following link: Release a player
Free Agency Signings
First, it is important that you know the player agent serving for your division in order to try and sign the restricted/unrestricted free agents you have at the end of a season, here they are:
Shawn MacDonald-Player Agent-Eastern Conference
Chris Gates-Player Agent-Western Conference
At the end of a season when a player's contract runs out, if he is a restricted free agent, the team to which he is currently signed must place a qualifying offer of at least 110% of his current salary. If the team fails to do so, the player becomes an unrestricted free agent, the team has no right of matching another team's offer. In order to determine the final salary and contract length, talk to your player agent, he has a program into which he inputs the situation and it comes out with a salary value. If a team signs another team's restricted free agent, they must compensate the other team, as per the compensation table in the rules section of the site.
As for Free Agents on the Free Agent list, you will
need to notify your Player Agent of your INTENT TO BID. Those teams in
the Eastern Conference will submit their intent to bids and later their
bids to PA-East. Those teams in
the Western Conference will submit their intent to bids and later their
bids to the PA-West. When a
bid is received for a player, the league will be notified by whichever
PA receives the bid. At that time there will be an intent to bid notice
sent out. For 24 hours both agents, the commisioner and David Springgay
will have an opportunity to work out among themselves how to bid on the
player/coach in question should they so desire without any conflicts occuring.
After that period all teams will have 48 hours to bid on the announced
FA by submitting their offer sheets to the relevant PA. At the end of 48
hours, each PA will take the best bid they have received from each particular
player on offer and compare it to the best from the other PA. Top bid wins.
